Bowed double bass, electric guitar, glockenspiel, a woman singing an Indian-style devotional song, strings, bagpipes? , a free-jazz saxophone solo and that's just the intro. Certainly the craziest thing you'll have heard in a long while. Lyrical and well up for a bout or two of furious head-banging, Dolphy Kick Bebop are difficult to pigeonhole. Their brand of mayhem is accessible and enjoyable, but impossible to dismiss as trivial or frivolous. It's as wild and edgy as they come. Mighty! martin corey

Anti-rock improv on the level with Sonic Youth's more outré moves or Royal Trux's drug-damaged mess-terpiece 'Twin Infinitives,' but also untethered to those sonic signatures. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNayfXnDS9K/ Lars Gotrich
