Seule œuvre (en tout cas d'après mes recherches) de 王子健 Wang Zijian, cet album est, comme le décrit si bien le label, un mélange inclassable hors du temps au carrefour entre freak folk et trip-hop. Le spoken word poétique utilisé par l'artiste fait passer un sentiment de nostalgie indescriptible — et ce alors même qu'il chante dans sa langue natale — qui me rappelle celui dans Anastasis de Dead Can Dance.

Sheng Jie is, for me, one of the most interesting composers working today. The use of strings combined with the life recordings adds a intriguing element. Just follow her where she takes you. You won’t be disappointed.
